Am-Pt (Americium-Platinum) D.E. Peterson The assessed Am-Pt phase diagram is estimated by correlation with the Nd-Pt and Sm-Pt phase diagrams [Moffatt]. This appears to be a reasonable approach, because Am metal is known to behave like a rare-earth metal in its alloying behavior. The AmPt2 and AmPt5 compounds have been experimentally observed, whereas Am7Pt3, Am3Pt2, AmPt, and Am3Pt4 are predicted to form based on analogy with the rare earth-platinum binaries.
