Ba-Ni

Ba-Ni (Barium-Nickel) H. Okamoto The Ba-Ni phase diagram is constructed from the work of [34Kro] and [66Tak]. There are no intermediate phases in this system [66Tak]. Because liquid Ni does not dissolve Ba [34Kro], the L2 = L1 + (Ni) monotectic temperature, reported by [66Tak] at "probably above 1300 C, must be very close to the melting point of Ni (1455 C [Melt]). The L = (Ba) + (Ni) eutectic point is ~6 at.% Ni and 580 с 5 C, according to [ 66Tak]. To avoid unusual distortion of the (Ba) liquidus caused by adjusting the melting point of Ba to the currently accepted value, the eutectic temperature is shown at 600 C. 34Ran: D.W. Randolph, Trans. Electrochem. Soc., 66, 85-90 (1934). 34Kro: W. Kroll, discussion to [34Ran] (1934). 66Tak: Y. Takeuchi, K. Mochizuki, M. Watanabe, and I. Obinata, Metall, 20(1), 2-8 (1966) in German.
