Cd-Ga

Cd-Ga (Cadmium-Gallium) Z. Moser, J. Dutkiewicz, W. Gasior, and J. Salawa The assessed Cd-Ga phase diagram is based primarily on the experimental data of [58Heu] and was obtained by thermodynamic modeling [58Pre, 85Mos]. The system is characterized by a monotectic transformation at 282 C and a eutectic transformation at 29.38 C, very close to the melting point of Ga (29. 7741 C [Melt]). The equilibrium phases are (1) the liquid, L, in which immiscibility occurs from 22.7 to 74.95 at.% Ga below a critical temperature ( 295 C); (2) the terminal (Cd) solid solution, with a solubility of less than 1 at.% Ga; and (3) the terminal (Ga) solid solution, with negligible solubility of Cd [58Heu]. Editor's note: The critical point temperature of the miscibility gap is 291 C according to an acoustic method based on the measurement of the rate of propagation of ultrasound [88Gla]. 58Heu: T.
