Cd-Si (Cadmium-Silicon) R.W. Olesinski and G.J. Abbaschian The Si-Cd system has not been studied extensively [33Jet, 57Col]. [33Jet] reported no evidence of a liquid miscibility gap, and an X-ray study of annealed samples indicated negligible mutual solubility in the solid state; no Si-Cd compound was reported. Consequently, the assessed phase diagram has been constructed by thermodynamic modeling by assuming the ideal character of the liquid phase and nil mutual solid solubilities. The coordinates of the liquidus boundary were then estimated. The assessed phase diagram shows a eutectic or peritectic transformation at a temperature close to the melting point of Cd. 33Jet: E.R.
