Co-Th (Cobalt-Thorium) K. Ishida, T. Nishizawa, and H. Okamoto The assessed phase diagram for the Co-Th system is based primarily on [89Pal]. Five compounds exist in the system: Co17Th2, Co5Th, Co7Th2, CoTh, and Co3Th7. There are no data for the solid solubilities of Th in (aCo) and Co in (bTh). The solubility of Co in (aTh) is from [90Axt]. The magnetic properties of intermetallic compounds in the Co-Th systems were investigated by [71Bus], [71Goo], [76Ele], and [79Giv]. Co17Th2 and Co5Th are ferromagnetic with Curie temperatures (TC) of 762 and 142 C, respectively, whereas other compounds exhibit a paramagnetic state [71Bus]. The TC of Co5Th varies appreciably depending on the composition. Co3Th7 shows superconductivity below the transition temperature at 1.83 K [61Mat]. 61Mat: B.T. Matthias, V.B. Compton, and E.
