Fe-In

Fe-In (Iron-Indium) H. Okamoto The assessed Fe-In phase diagram is based on the experimental data of [67Sta], [69Das], and [70Mal]. There are no intermediate phases in the Fe-In system. Reported maximum solubilities of In in (dFe), (gFe), and (aFe) are ~0.9, 0.4, and 0.9 at.% [69Das], or 1, 0.2, and ~0.5 at.% [67Sta]. Because (dFe) and ( aFe) have the same crystal structure, the (dFe)/[(dFe) + L] and (aFe)/[(aFe) + L] solvus boundaries must be continuous. Therefore, the assessed maximum solubilities have been adjusted slightly. The room-temperature solubility of In in (aFe) is <0.28 at.% [69Das]. The critical temperature of the miscibility gap is 2857 C, from a regular solution model proposed by [79Pre]. This value is presumed qualitative in the present evaluation, because the L2 liquidus was not considered. Solubility of Fe in liquid In (L2 liquidus) was measured by [67Sta] and [70Mal] . The assessed liquidus boundaries are based on the latter with more data points. 67Sta: H.H. Stadelmaier and M.L. Fiedler, Z. Metallkd., 58, 633-634 (1967) in German. 69Das: C. Dasarathy, Trans.
