Gd-Ir

Gd-Ir (Gadolinium-Iridium) H. Okamoto The speculative Gd-Ir phase diagram was proposed by [Moffatt] assuming similarity to the La-Ir and Ce-Ir systems. In addition to the terminal phases, the existence of six intermediate phases has been reported. According to [ 89Bla], Gd5Ir3 is found in three polymorphic forms: Pu5Rh3 type and Er5Ir3 type on the Ir-rich side and Er5Rh3 type on the Gd-rich side. However, the phase boundaries and relative stability of these structure types are unknown. The ferromagnetic Curie temperature of GdIr2 is 89 K [59Boz]. 59Boz: R.M. Bozorth, B.T. Matthias, H.
