Ge-Zn

Ge-Zn (Germanium-Zinc) R.W. Olesinski and G.J. Abbaschian The Ge-Zn system is characterized by a eutectic reaction at 394 C and 94.7 at. % Zn. The mutual solid solubilities of Ge and Zn are negligible. The assessed phase diagram has been obtained by thermodynamic modeling and is based on the available experimental data [42Geb, 59Kle, 60Thu, 70Bat, 80Gir]. The coordinates of the liquidus (including the eutectic point) have been calculated using the common-tangent method and the Gibbs energy functions of the liquid and solid phases. Because of the negligible solid solubility limits, the Gibbs energy functions of the solids correspond essentially to the respective Gibbs energies of fusion of the pure components. 42Geb: E.
