Hg-Ni

Hg-Ni (Mercury-Nickel) S.Y. Lee and P. Nash A limited amount of experimental data on the Hg-Ni system is available. Based on results from [59Ton], [63Jan], and [77Pus], a partial assessed diagram is suggested. Two compounds are known: Hg4Ni [53Lih2] and HgNi [77Pus]. Hg4Ni was reported to be stable up to about 250 C [53Lih1, 32Bri] and to be in equilibrium with (Ni) [53Lih1]. In addition, a hexagonal phase and a "Hg3Ni" phase were reported by [50Paw] and [32Bri], respectively, but these phases were not confirmed by [53Lih1]. Another compound, HgNi, was reported to form at room temperature after about 2 years [77Pus]. This phase was reported to have the tetragonal structure. 32Bri: R. Brill and W. Haag, Z.
