In-Y

In-Y (Indium-Yttrium) H. Okamoto The assessed Y-In phase diagram is based primarily on the data of [83Yat], with review of the data of [74Die]. Because the temperatures in the original diagram were rounded to the nearest 10 C, the accuracy in the assessed diagram is probably no better than с5 C. The superconducting transition temperature of YIn3 is 0.78 K [70Hav]. The solubility of Y in liquid In was measured by [74Die] between 327 and 967 C; log C = 2.36 - 2440/T, where C is in at.% Y and T is in K. According to this expression, the eutectic composition is 99.99953 at.% In. Therefore, the eutectic composition is very close to 100 at.% In. The assessed diagram shows that the solubility of Y in (In) is negligible, and the eutectic temperature is only slightly lower than the melting point of In. 62Bru: G. Bruzzone and A.F.
