Ir-P

Ir-P (Iridium-Phosphorus) H. Okamoto The assessed phase diagram for the Ir-P system is based primarily on [40Sof], with review of the data of [57Rei]. The equilibrium phases are (1) the liquid, L; (2) the fcc terminal phase, (Ir); (3) cubic CaF2-type Ir2P; (4) monoclinic IrP2; (5) cubic CoAs3-type IrP3; and (6) the (P) terminal phase. The melting point of Ir is 2447 C [Melt]. The (Ir) liquidus trend and the van't Hoff relationship suggest that the solubility of P in (Ir) is very small. The melting point of Ir2P is 1310 to 1360 C [40Sof]. The L = (Ir) + Ir2P eutectic temperature is 1262 C [57Rei]. 40Sof: K.H. Soffge, M. Heimbrecht, and W. Biltz, Z. Anorg.
