Si-W (Silicon-Tungsten) S.V. Nagender Naidu, A.M. Sriramamurthy, and P. Rama Rao The assessed phase diagram for the Si-W system is based on [69Mak], with review of the data of [52Kie] and [73Koc]. The terminal solid solubility of W in (Si) is negligible, whereas the solubility of Si in (W) is suggested to be 5.5 at.% Si at the eutectic temperature of 2180 C. The assessed phase diagram conforms to the analogous phase diagram for the Mo-Si system. Because of a lack of reliable experimental data to fix the homogeneity range of Si3W5, it is suggested that the homogeneity range of this phase extends from 60 to 62.5 at.% W at the eutectic temperature of 2010 C. 52Kie: R.
