C-Pr

C-Pr (Carbon-Praseodymium) Editor [88Ere] determined the Pr-C phase diagram by differential thermal, X-ray, and metallographic analyses. [58Spe] reported that three phases (hexagonal Pr, bcc Pr2C3, and tetragonal PrC2) exist from 0 to 57 at.% C. [71Kos] reported 1560 C as the melting temperature of Pr2C3, which is consistent with the other known peritectic temperatures of RE2C3 compounds. The room temperature form of PrC2 is tetragonal with the CaC2-type structure. bPrC2 has a cubic structure. A PrC6 compound was reported by [80Elm], but the structure was not determined.<311>H.O. 58Spe: F.H. Spedding, K.A. Gschneidner, Jr., and A.H. Daane, J. Am. Chem. Soc., 80, 4499 (1958). 71Kos: T.Ya. This supersedes the evaluation by K.A. Gschneidner, Jr. and F.W. Calderwood published in Bull. Alloy Phase Diagrams, 7(6), Dec 1986, which contains 1 table and 23 references. 1
