In-U (Indium-Uranium) H. Okamoto The assessed phase diagram for the In-U system is based on the experimental data of [48Hay] and [63Joh]. It has been investigated only along the L/[L + In3U] liquidus. The AuCu3-type intermediate phase, In3U, is known to exist in this system. Its melting temperature and the type of melting are unknown. In3U is not superconducting at 0.07 K [70Hav]. [69Das] predicted the incidence of liquid immiscibility in the In-U system. No confirmation is available. The solubility of U in liquid In (L/[L + In3U]) was measured by [48Hay] and [ 63Joh]. The Arrhenius plot of the solubility data in the assessed diagram shows that the solubility of U observed by [48Hay] is about three times as much as that observed by [63Joh]. [63Joh] considered the larger apparent solubility of U observed by [48Hay] to be due to In3U crystals carried over into the unfiltered samples.
