Ni-Rh

Ni-Rh (Nickel-Rhodium) A. Nash and P. Nash The assessed phase diagram for the Ni-Rh system is based on the work of [65Kor] and [78Pra]. The formation of a continuous solid solution, (Ni,Rh), up to 60 at.% Rh was confirmed by [63Kor]. The melting point and the hardness of Ni increase steadily with increasing Rh content, and a sharp increase in the hot hardness at 61 at.% Rh was observed, which was attributed to disordering of the alloy at temperatures above 800 C. [74Pra] and [78Pra] studied the thermodynamic properties of 0 to 95 at.% Rh alloys at various temperatures between 647 and 1097 C. The existence of two distinct regions, one on each side of approximately 60 at.% Ni, was reported. The sharp change in the thermodynamic behavior of Ni-Rh alloys around 60 at.% Ni, as found by [74Pra], coincides with the enhanced magnetic susceptibilities and the electronic specific heat coefficients of the alloys. [74Pra] and [ 78Pra] concluded that an increase in these parameters may suggest different electronic behavior on either side of this composition. 63Kor: I.I. Kornilov and K.P. Myasnikova, Akad.
