Ag-Lu

Ag-Lu (Silver-Lutetium) K.A. Gschneidner, Jr. and F.W. Calderwood Minimal information is available for the construction of the Ag-Lu phase diagram. The melting points of the pure metals are the only liquidus data available. Three intermetallic compounds and their crystal structures have been reported, but there is no information on their melting points or on their eutectic compositions. One eutectic temperature, that of Ag with the Ag-rich phase, Ag4Lu, was reported by [70Gsc], who used the X-ray parametric method to determine the solid solubility of Lu in Ag between 300 and 814 C, the eutectic temperature. Using the same alloys, [70Mcm] reported a tetragonal MoNi4-type structure for Ag4Lu. [67Fer] and [68Ian] reported the tetragonal MoSi2-type structure for Ag2Lu and [60Dwi] reported the cubic CsCl-type structure for AgLu. 60Dwi: A.E.
