Am-Si (Americium-Silicon) Editor Each Am-Si compound given here was prepared by reacting americium trifluoride with elemental Si in a stoichiometric proportion [84Wei]. AmSi melts between 900 and 1000 C. A possible phase transition was detected in AmSi between 540 and 570 C. Other compounds are not polymorphic at least up to 900 C.
