Bi-Pr

Bi-Pr (Bismuth-Praseodymium) Editor The complete Bi-Pr phase diagram was drawn by [Moffatt] on the basis of intermediate phases reported in [75Yos] and a presumed similarity to the Bi-La and Bi-Nd systems. The maximum solid solubility of Bi in (bPr) is 0.8 at.% at 891 C. The solid solubility of Bi is negligible in (aPr) [71Gri]. [61Sch] presented equations showing that the solubility of Pr in (Bi) is 0.043 at.% at 275 C, 0.11 at.% at 350 C, and 0.80 at.% at 500 C.-H.O. 61Sch: D.G. Schweitzer and J.R. Weeks, Trans. Q., 54, 185 (1961). 71Gri: R.B. Griffin and K.A. Gschneidner, Jr., Trans. Metall. Soc. AIME, 2, 2517 (1971). 75Yos: K. Yoshihara, J.B. Taylor, L.D. Calvert, and J.G. Despault, J. Less- Common Met., 41, 329-337 (1975). This updates the evaluation by K.A. Gschneidner, Jr. and F.W. Calderwood published in Bull. Alloy Phase Diagrams, 10(4a), Sep 1989. Complete evaluation contains 2 figures, 1 table, and 20 references. 1
