Ca-Si

Ca-Si (Calcium-Silicon) Editor The Ca-Si phase diagram is based primarily on the DTA and electron microprobe investigations of [74Sch]. The existence of new phases at ~37, ~40, and ~57.1 ( Ca3Si4) at.% Si has been proposed by [72Wyn], based on X-ray diffraction and metallographic investigations. The phase at ~37 at.% Si could be Ca5Si3; [ 74Eis] reported the existence of a phase with this stoichiometry and identified its structure. The phase relationships should be considered tentative, because considerable disagreement exists with earlier investigations. The melting points of elemental Ca and Si have been raised for conformity with [Melt]; the various invariant temperatures have been adjusted accordingly. -P.R.S. 27Boh: J. B”hm and O. Hassel, Z.
