Ga-Ge

Ga-Ge (Gallium-Germanium) R.W. Olesinski and G.J. Abbaschian The Ge-Ga system is characterized by a eutectic transformation close to the melting point of Ga (29.7741 C). The solid solubility of Ga in (Ge) is retrograde, with a maximum solubility of 1 at.% Ga near 700 C; Ge has no appreciable solubility in solid (Ga). The assessed phase diagram is based primarily on the work of [48Kle], [53Kec], [55Gre], [57Roc], [58Sav], [59Tru], and [60Thu]. The phase boundaries have been calculated by optimization of available experimental solubility data and enthalpy values. Calculations were based on the assumption that the enthalpy and entropy of mixing functions are temperature independent and that the Ge-rich solid solution is Henrian. 48Kle: W. Klemm, L. Klemm, E.
