Lu-Tb (Lutetium-Terbium) Editor The Lu-Tb phase diagram was drawn by [Moffatt] to indicate the qualitative features of the system summarized in [85Gsc]. This system is similar to the Dy- Ho system. [63Smi] investigated the electrical resistivity of several rare earth alloy systems and reported the existence of complete solubility in the Lu-Tb system, as confirmed by X-ray diffraction and resistivity methods. This result was not unexpected, because these metals satisfy the Hume-Rothery requirements for formation of extensive solid solutions.-H.O. 63Smi: F.A. Smidt, Jr. and A.H. Daane, J. Phys. Chem.
