Rh-V

Rh-V (Rhodium-Vanadium) J.F. Smith The assessed Rh-V phase diagram is based on [77Wat], with review of the data of [77Aks]. The (Rh) terminal solution extends to ~19.5 at.% V near 1740 C with the solvus showing only a weak temperature dependence. The (V) terminal solution has a limit near 82 at.% V at 1730 C, and the Rh content decreases smoothly with decreasing temperature to reach ~86 at.% V near 700 C. Except for the data of [77Aks] above ~1300 to 1400 C, there is approximate to good agreement between [77Aks] and [77Wat] with regard to five of the six intermediate phases. The sixth phase reported by [77Aks] did not have its X- ray pattern indexed and was shown only as a line compound near 13 at.% V. In the assessed diagram this composition, at most if not all temperatures, lies within the phase field of the V-rich terminal solution. This disparity between the two diagrams in the V-rich region needs further investigation. 59Dwi: A.E. Dwight and P.A. Beck, Trans.Met. Soc. Am. Inst. Mining Met.
